Computer-aided design (CAD)
BMI’s in-house state of the art computer drafting department allows us to maximize customer service and work within stringent time constraints to complete your process design and development. Our experienced team helps streamline the construction process and facilitate the plan check process.
Our CAD department maintains a database of parts and equipment and provides a high standard of precision and ease of modification of designs. Drawings can be easily shared, facilitating easy collaboration between you and the BMI team.
3D modeling brings a design to a manufacture-ready state by translating concepts into three-dimensional models which aid in visualization, optimization and simulations. These 3D models facilitate seeing the process as a whole and make it easier to prevent collisions and identify and correct potential errors.
BIM design services
BIM design services take 3D modeling to the next level by connecting your 3D model to real world data such as parts lists, schedules and tasks. BIM allows our customers to use smart objects to catalog every aspect of a process component, such as part number, part specs, installation date and maintenance performed. This data facilitates predictive maintenance and other planning activities.
BMI engineers and process designers develop:
- Piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) drawings
- Bill of materials (BOMs)
- Process flow diagrams
- 3D models
- Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Reliable and detailed plant layouts
- Electrical wiring diagrams
- Final line layouts and drawing packages
- As-built drawings
We use cutting-edge design tools such as:
- Autodesk Inventor
- AutoCAD Plant 3D
Our designers use these collaborative tools to ensure design clarity, prevent collisions and improve project communication. Whether you need a new process system design and/or as-built drawings for a legacy system, BMI will deliver.
